Hey friends! I’m currently sitting on bus to hop on 4 different flights to get to Ecuador! That’s right, I’m going to Ecuador! There’s been so much going on lately and the Lord has been teaching me so much through it all. Here’s a little timeline for you.

On March 3, my squad was given an individual choice to either choose Romania or Ecuador for our third country! We had 24 hours to decide.

On March 4, everyone made their decisions. 14 people decided on Ecuador. 37 people chose Romania. I chose Romania. The squad was splitting up.

On March 8, Adventures in Missions leadership decided it would be best if the whole squad went to Ecuador instead of Romania due to the risk of being pulled off the field because of the war in Ukraine.

On March 16, we were each given a choice for which ministry we would like to do in Ecuador. This means that we would be getting new teams. We also found out that the squad would be splitting up. In Ecuador, 3 out of the 6 teams would be about an hour away during the week, and would have the option to return to base on the weekends.

Wow. What a rollercoaster, right? Through all of these ups and downs the Lord has been teaching me so many things. He’s shown me how powerful it is when the church seeks Him first. It could have been so easy for everybody to run to their friends or team when the squad was asked to choose Ecuador or Romania, but instead every single person went straight to the Lord to ask Him what they should do. Through this my squad was united in a completely new way. My squad was saying yes to the Lord no matter where He was asking them to go or who He was asking them to say goodbye to. What a joy to walk alongside people who are dedicating their lives to exactly what the Lord says. Here’s are a few other things the Lord has been teaching me and doing through all of this!

He’s taught me about trusting Him even when it doesn’t make sense.

He’s allowed me to grieve and process even when goodbyes are hard.

He’s showed me that He’s always working and preparing me for something.

He’s brought me into deeper gratitude for the people He’s given me.

He’s turned sorrow into excitement.

He’s set a fire in my heart for all the things He is planning.

I’m walking in so much excitement for all the changes that are coming in this next season in Ecuador. The Lord is so kind and good, and these last 2.5 months on the race are going to be oh so sweet! I would love to talk to you about all of these things the Lord is doing in my life! Please reach out!

Also, new team blog coming soon!! And more information about all that we’ll be doing in Ecuador!

In Christ,

  1. Haley, Your blog about having your heart captured by the children at Beats & Books – how they individually reflect the love of Christ in unique ways, and these thoughts about the path God has had for you and your squad the past few weeks, it is all reflective of the heart of God for each one of us as His beloved, one-of-a-kind child, and His work and grace poured out through the larger body of Christ. What a privilege it was to get to see first-hand His love and work through the hands and feet of Teams Haven and Tov at Beats and Books. Truly, what God is teaching each one of us and how He’s molding us is a beautiful thing to behold.
